The Toronto Maple Leafs were eliminated from the NHL playoffs in the first round after losing 2-1 to the Boston Bruins in overtime of Game 7. David Pastrnak scored the winning goal for Boston in overtime. Jeremy Swayman made 30 saves for Boston, while William Nylander scored the only goal for the Leafs in the third period. Despite a valiant effort, Toronto lost their sixth consecutive Game 7 and their fourth straight to the Bruins. The Leafs faced challenges with injuries to key players like Joseph Woll and Auston Matthews. Questions arise about the future of head coach Sheldon Keefe and star winger Marner, who has one year left on his contract. The Bruins will face the well-rested Florida Panthers in the second round.
