Toronto FC extended their winning streak to four games across all competitions with a 3-1 victory over FC Dallas in MLS action. Italian star Federico Bernardeschi broke his lengthy scoreless streak with two goals and an assist, helping TFC secure the win. Despite an initial disallowed goal, Bernardeschi’s second-half performance proved decisive, with a highlight-reel goal showcasing his skill. Substitute Matty Longstaff added an insurance goal, his first in MLS, while Sam Junqua scored a consolation goal for Dallas. The win moved Toronto up to third in the Eastern Conference standings. The match marked the first meeting between the two teams since 2022, with Toronto securing its first win against Dallas since 2016. The victory comes amidst reports of Toronto FC possibly terminating Canadian forward Ayo Akinola’s contract. Both teams were missing key players due to injuries. Toronto FC faces CS Saint-Laurent in Canadian Championship quarterfinal play next, while Dallas hosts Memphis 901 FC in U.S. Open Cup round-of-32 action.
