Barrio Boat Cruise – Sold out, but it wasn’t easy!

It’s not easy to sell out a club event. Those who do it regularly might make it look easy, but it’s not. You can’t fake it. You have to know what you’re doing, understand the nightlife industry, understand what your guests want, and know how to pull them in. What type of deal are you getting at the venue? What are you charging at the door? Are you taking the door? Is it a split? Do you get points from the bar? Is there a bar minimum?

We spend over $1000 monthly on different ads. I don’t think you can have a successful night without a proper marketing budget. Content is king. You need to create a re-cap video. Make sure your videographer is onboard! Basically, this is your marketing video for your next party.

If hosting a successful party on land is difficult, times that by 10 for a boat party!

We’ve completely sold out our August 12 boat cruise. I shit you not, it wasn’t easy. Chartering a boat costs several thousands of dollars. Then the boat has a minimum of guests they want to see before they even leave the pier. We’re luck enough to have access to many DJ’s in Toronto and abroad. We find the best, but often times the best are already at other venues on a Saturday night…

Now you have 500 people to board the ship in under an hour LOL. This is the most stressful part for me. Make sure you have a system in place and a team that cares about your brand as much as you care about there’s . DISTINGUISH between love and ‘fake love’ LOL… it’s a thing.

You can lose your shirt if you don’t know what you’re doing. I guess you can say that about everything.

We do much more than curate and host events; we put our heart into this. We know that music, dancing and having a few drinks with our friends and family is a HUGE part of our culture.

For those of you that are lucky enough to have bought your tickets to our August 12 cruise, get ready to party and have a great time. The vibes are unreal. For those of you who have not secured a ticket, there’s always next summer, or simply join us at any of our other events on land LOL.

Thank you all for your continued support. Let’s party!
