Bad Bunny Speaks Out: Fear of ICE Raids Led Him to Skip U.S. Tour Dates

Bad Bunny is opening up about one of the biggest surprises in his upcoming Debi Tirar Mas Fotos World Tour—the absence of U.S. dates. While fans speculated after the announcement, the Puerto Rican superstar has now clarified his decision, pointing directly to concerns over ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement).

In an interview with I-D, Benito admitted that skipping the U.S. wasn’t about resentment, but about safety and principle. “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate,” he said. “But… fucking ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”

Bad Bunny stressed that his choice isn’t a slight to his U.S. fans, pointing out that he’s performed there countless times over the past six years and built unforgettable memories with Latino audiences across the country. Still, he emphasized that Puerto Rico—an unincorporated U.S. territory—offers a unique opportunity for fans to travel and see him perform without fear of raids.

This isn’t the first time Benito has spoken out against ICE. Earlier this year, he posted a video on social media showing what appeared to be ICE agents detaining people in Puerto Rico, slamming the agency in his caption. The artist has become increasingly vocal about immigrant rights, using his platform to highlight injustices faced by Latinos living in the United States.

While some fans are disappointed by the lack of U.S. dates, others see his decision as a bold stance in solidarity with immigrant communities. For Bad Bunny, the tour isn’t just about the music—it’s also about the message.
