Global music icon Bad Bunny is adding another film credit to his growing résumé, this time appearing alongside Austin Butler and Zoë Kravitz in the upcoming action-thriller Caught Stealing, directed by Darren Aronofsky.
In the official trailer released May 21, the artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio is seen portraying a Puerto Rican gangster. In a tense exchange with Butler’s character, Hank Thompson, Bad Bunny delivers a chilling line: “Either I get what I want or my pistol talks for me.”
Directed by Aronofsky, best known for psychological dramas like Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, and Mother!, Caught Stealing follows an unsuspecting man whose life spirals out of control after he agrees to cat-sit for a neighbor. According to the trailer description: “He was just supposed to watch the cat. Now he’s running for his f**king life.”
The film’s ensemble cast also includes Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Vincent D’Onofrio, Griffin Dunne, and Carol Kane. Caught Stealing is set for theatrical release on August 29.
This role marks another major acting milestone for Bad Bunny, who is also slated to appear in Happy Gilmore 2, playing Adam Sandler’s caddie. The multi-talented entertainer has been steadily expanding his film career, following previous appearances in Bullet Train and on television.
Bad Bunny’s Meteoric Year Continues
The film news comes as Bad Bunny wraps a massive wave of media and music appearances. He recently closed out the 50th season finale of Saturday Night Live with a standout dual performance of “Nuevayol” and “Perfumito Nuevo,” as well as several well-received comedy sketches.
Meanwhile, his Debí Tirar Más Fotos (DTMF) world tour has broken records even before it begins. According to Billboard, the tour has already sold 2.6 million tickets worldwide, making it one of the most successful global tours of the year. The tour officially kicks off this November in the Dominican Republic.
From the concert stage to the big screen, Bad Bunny continues to expand his creative reach, positioning himself not only as a music powerhouse, but as a rising force in Hollywood.
