A court in Argentina has dismissed aggravated rape charges against French rugby players Hugo Auradou and Oscar Jegou, concluding that no crime occurred, according to their lawyer. The two 21-year-olds were accused of gang rape in Mendoza province in July after making their international debuts. Both denied wrongdoing, claiming the encounter was consensual.

After spending several days in detention and a month under house arrest, they returned to France in September. Since then, Auradou has played for Section Paloise, while Jegou resumed playing for Stade Rochelais. The French rugby federation stated they would not be eligible for national team selection until the case was resolved, which now clears them.
