Spanish singer-songwriter Alejandro Sanz is set to receive the prestigious lifetime achievement award at the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards on October 20th, which will be broadcast live on Telemundo. Over his illustrious career, Sanz has won 22 Latin Grammys and become one of the most successful and influential Latin artists. He rose to fame with his second album Viviendo Deprisa and made history as the first Spanish artist to record an MTV Unplugged album in 2002.
Sanz expressed his joy in receiving the award, especially in Miami, a place he considers home.
Past recipients of the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award include iconic artists such as Los Temerarios, Armando Manzanero, and Miguel Bosé. Sanz’s recent accolades also include an honorary doctorate from the University of Cadiz and the title of “Hijo Predilecto” from both Andalusia and Cadiz.
