A Paris-bound Air Canada flight AC872, carrying 389 passengers, encountered an “engine issue” shortly after departing from Toronto Pearson International Airport on Wednesday night. The Boeing 777 aircraft safely returned to the airport, where it was inspected by airport response vehicles and then taxied to the gate on its own. Air Canada confirmed that the plane will be taken out of service for further evaluation. Passengers will be accommodated on another flight departing later that night. The flight had left the gate at 8:46 p.m. and landed back at Pearson Airport at 9:50 p.m. The plane was met by the fire department upon landing.
