The race for the Miss Grand International 2026 crown is heating up, and Latin America is making a serious impression.

With the grand finale scheduled for October 10 in Bangkok, Thailand, 77 contestants have been competing in one of the world’s most talked-about international beauty pageants. Following the preliminary competition on October 7, several contestants have emerged as strong contenders, including representatives from Ecuador, Cuba and Venezuela. 

Founded in Thailand in 2013, Miss Grand International has built its reputation on glamorous productions, high-energy runway performances and its message of promoting peace and ending violence. The competition also places considerable emphasis on personality, confidence and audience engagement.

Who Are the Top Five Frontrunners?

According to recent preliminary performance coverage and pageant rankings, these five contestants are generating considerable attention heading into the final. These are predictions, not official placements. 

1. Shyare Andrade — Ecuador 🇪🇨

Ecuador is looking like a serious contender. The 22-year-old law student, model and entrepreneur from Portoviejo has impressed judges and pageant observers with her runway presence. She received particularly strong reviews for her swimsuit performance and ranked second in one preliminary evening-gown assessment.

2. Emoura Phạm — Vietnam 🇻🇳

Vietnam’s representative has emerged as a standout following her preliminary evening-gown performance, which topped Pageanthology’s assessment. Her dramatic phoenix-inspired dress and energetic stage presence have made her one of the contestants to watch.

3. Jihan Mohin Dimachk — Tanzania 🇹🇿

At 30, Tanzania’s representative brings experience and confidence to the competition. She has attracted considerable recognition from pageant observers and received two special awards during the preliminary event, strengthening her position among the favourites.

4. Alyanni T. Gomez — Cuba 🇨🇺

Cuba is another Latin American country making waves. The 25-year-old contestant, who grew up in Guanajay and now lives in the United States, impressed with an elegant black evening gown and polished runway performance.

5. Lady Di Mosquera — Venezuela 🇻🇪

Venezuela’s reputation as an international pageant powerhouse continues. Standing 1.83 metres tall, Lady Di Mosquera has attracted attention for her striking appearance, commanding stage presence and dramatic evening-gown presentation.

Latin America Could Have a Big Night

Beyond Ecuador, Cuba and Venezuela, countries including Brazil, Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia are also represented in this year’s competition.

Ecuador has attracted particularly strong attention, with Shyare Andrade appearing at the top of Pageanthology’s earlier overall prediction list. Guatemala and Brazil have also featured in pageant-watch discussions, making this an exciting edition for Latin American fans. 

A Crown, a Global Audience and Plenty of Drama

This year’s competition has already experienced an unexpected twist. Originally planned for India, the event was moved to Thailand shortly before the contestants were scheduled to arrive.

Another interesting element is the importance of public voting, with the Miss Popular Vote winner earning a direct place in the Top 5. That means fan support could have a major influence on the final outcome. 

The reigning queen, Emma Tiglao of the Philippines, will crown her successor on October 10, with the final expected to stream on the official GrandTV YouTube channel.

For Latin American pageant fans, all eyes will be on Ecuador, Cuba and Venezuela as they attempt to bring the crown home.
