Rosalía is adding another major milestone to a career that has completely blurred the lines between flamenco, Latin music and global pop.
The Spanish superstar will receive the Billboard Hall of Fame Award at the 2026 Billboard Latin Music Awards on October 22 in Miami. Rosalía will attend the ceremony in person to accept the honour.
The award recognizes artists whose careers have achieved global influence while transcending musical genres, languages and borders.
And Rosalía certainly fits the description.
From Flamenco to Global Superstar
Rosalía first broke through internationally with “El Mal Querer” in 2018, an album that took elements of traditional flamenco and completely reimagined them for a new generation.
Then came “Motomami.”
Released in 2022, the experimental album pushed her even further into the global mainstream, becoming her first album to reach the Billboard 200 and spending 25 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Pop Albums chart.
Her latest project, “LUX,” took things to another level.
Released in 2025, the album debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, giving Rosalía her first Top 10 album in the United States.
Even more impressively, “LUX” debuted at No. 1 on five different Billboard charts: Top Latin Albums, Top Latin Pop Albums, Classical Albums, Classical Crossover Albums and World Albums.
Rosalía recently wrapped the LUX Tour after 57 sold-out dates around the world.
Making Spanish Music History
The honour also puts Rosalía in some very rare company.
Spanish media reports that she will become only the second Spanish artist to receive Billboard’s Latin Music Hall of Fame Award, following legendary Spanish singer Rocío Dúrcal, who received the honour in 1999.
Rosalía isn’t only being honoured at this year’s ceremony, either.
She enters the Billboard Latin Music Awards as a finalist in six categories, putting her among the prominent artists at this year’s event.
The ceremony takes place October 22 at Miami’s James L. Knight Center and will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Telemundo and Peacock.
From flamenco roots in Spain to reggaeton collaborations, experimental pop, classical music and sold-out arenas around the world, Rosalía has spent much of her career refusing to stay inside one musical box.
Now Billboard is putting her in its Hall of Fame.
Not bad for an artist who built her career by breaking the rules. 🔥
