The nominations for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards are officially here, with some of the biggest names in Latin music — and several rising stars — preparing for another huge night in Las Vegas.

The Latin Recording Academy announced the nominees for the 27th Annual Latin Grammy Awards on Wednesday, September 16, with Mexican songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera leading all nominees with an impressive 10 nominations.

Not far behind is a four-way group featuring Karol G, Rosalía, Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler and Argentine duo CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, who each earned seven nominations. Mexican singer Silvana Estrada and Chilean star Mon Laferte follow with six nominations each.

For Colombian music fans, Karol G is once again right in the middle of the biggest categories of the night.

Her album “Tropicoqueta” is nominated for Album of the Year, while “Coleccionando Heridas,” her collaboration with Mexican legend Marco Antonio Solís, earned nominations for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Karol G will face some major competition in Album of the Year. The category includes Anitta’s “EQUILIBRIVM,” CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso’s “FREE SPIRITS,” Jorge Drexler’s “Taracá,” Silvana Estrada’s “Vendrán Suaves Lluvias,” Mon Laferte’s “FEMME FATALE,” Carín León’s “MUDA,” Milo J’s “La Vida Era Más Corta,” Rawayana’s “¿Dónde Es El After?” and Rosalía’s “LUX (Complete Works).”

Colombia is also well represented beyond Karol G.

J Balvin and Ryan Castro are among the nominees for Best Urban Music Album, while Colombian music is strongly represented in Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album. Jorge Celedón and Víctor Naín Jr., Gusi, Karen Lizarazo and Carlos Vives are among the artists competing in that category.

Brazil is having a big year as well. Anitta landed one of the night’s biggest nominations with “EQUILIBRIVM” competing for Album of the Year. Brazilian artists including Marisa Monte, Urias, Johnny Hooker and Ney Matogrosso also appear among this year’s nominees.

Argentina will have plenty to celebrate through CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso and rising star Milo J, while Mexico is represented heavily through Barrera, Silvana Estrada, Carín León and Marco Antonio Solís. Uruguay’s Jorge Drexler once again finds himself among the ceremony’s most nominated artists.

And at 95 years old, Cuban icon Omara Portuondo is still receiving Latin Grammy recognition, adding another remarkable chapter to one of the longest careers in Latin music.

The nominations also show just how wide the Latin music landscape has become. Reggaeton and urbano remain major forces, but pop, regional Mexican music, tropical, alternative, singer-songwriter music, Brazilian music and more experimental sounds are all represented across the 60 categories.

One notable name not dominating the nominations this time is Bad Bunny. After leading the 2025 Latin Grammys with 12 nominations, his blockbuster “Debí Tirar Más Fotos” belonged to the previous eligibility period, meaning this year’s field looks considerably different.

The 2026 Latin Grammys will take place Thursday, November 12 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, with the ceremony airing live in the United States on Univision.

With Karol G, Rosalía, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Jorge Drexler and Edgar Barrera sitting near the top of the nominations — and artists from across Latin America competing throughout the categories — November 12 is shaping up to be another major celebration of Latin music on the global stage.
