Karol G is officially sitting at the top of the world.
The Colombian superstar has reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Daily Global chart with “BbY WOW,” her collaboration with Spanish artists Judeline and rusowsky.
The song climbed to the top spot with more than 3.3 million daily streams, completing an impressive rise since appearing on Spotify’s global chart earlier this month. It has since remained at No. 1, recording more than 3.6 million streams on August 28.
Another Global Milestone for Karol G
The achievement gives Karol G her second No. 1 on Spotify’s global daily chart.
Her previous trip to the top came with “TQG,” her massive collaboration with fellow Colombian superstar Shakira. With “BbY WOW,” Karol G reportedly joins Shakira as the only Latina artists to have multiple songs reach No. 1 on Spotify Global.
The latest milestone comes during another huge period in Karol G’s career.
“BbY WOW” appears on her new album No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, released earlier in August. The project has continued the evolution of one of Latin music’s biggest global stars while introducing collaborations that stretch beyond the traditional reggaeton and Latin-pop worlds.
“BbY WOW” in particular has taken off quickly across Latin America. The track has already reached No. 1 on Spotify in countries including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and El Salvador.
From Medellín to No. 1 in the World
For Karol G, the Spotify milestone is another reminder of just how far Latin music’s global reach has grown.
An artist from Medellín singing alongside two emerging Spanish artists now has the most-streamed song of the day on the world’s biggest music streaming platform.
And Karol G isn’t simply appearing on the global charts anymore.
She’s leading them.
With “BbY WOW” at No. 1, La Bichota once again has the biggest song in the world.
