Vinícius Júnior Launches Free Law Firm to Fight Racism in Brazil

Vinícius Júnior is once again using his platform to create change beyond the football pitch. The Real Madrid CF and Brazil national team star has announced the launch of a free legal assistance program aimed at supporting victims of racism and discrimination throughout Brazil.

The initiative, unveiled on May 13 — the anniversary of the abolition of slavery in Brazil — will provide legal support at no cost to individuals facing racial abuse, with an initial focus on cases in education and sports. The project will operate through Instituto Viní Jr, the foundation Vinícius created in 2021 to help address educational inequality through technology and social development programs.

“Freedom did not reach everyone,” Vinícius said when announcing the initiative, highlighting the reality that racism continues to affect millions of Brazilians today. The 25-year-old has become one of the most outspoken athletes in the fight against racial discrimination after repeatedly being targeted by racist abuse during his career, both in stadiums and online.

The new legal office aims to remove one of the biggest barriers victims often face: access to legal representation. By offering free support, the program hopes to ensure that financial limitations do not prevent individuals from seeking justice.

While Vinícius continues to shine as one of football’s biggest stars, his impact off the field may prove equally important. Through advocacy, education, and now legal assistance, he is helping create opportunities for real and lasting change while sending a powerful message that victims of discrimination do not have to face these battles alone.
