Toronto baseball fever is officially back.
The Toronto Blue Jays’ 2026 home opener sold out within minutes after tickets went on sale Thursday morning, showing just how much momentum the club is carrying into its historic 50th season. General ticket sales began at 10 a.m., and by 10:15 a.m., all available tickets for the March 27 matchup vs. the Oakland Athletics were gone.
Thousands of fans were spotted in the digital Ticketmaster queue trying to secure seats before the opener disappeared. At the time, the cheapest ticket available was around $147, a clear sign that demand for this season’s first game at Rogers Centre is off the charts.
Fans who managed to score tickets won’t just be attending a regular opener either. The Jays are planning a special on-field pregame ceremony to honour Toronto’s historic 2025 run — setting the tone for what the organization is calling a season-long celebration.
This year also marks a major milestone for the franchise: 50 seasons in MLB. To commemorate the occasion, the team will wear uniforms featuring a retro 50th season patch, inspired by the club’s original 1970s logo. The Blue Jays also teased in a previous release that fans can expect ballpark additions celebrating franchise history, along with exclusive throwback merch, promotions, and giveaways throughout the season.
For fans who missed out on opening day, there’s still hope. Tickets for the March 28 game remain available, with seats in the 500 Level going for roughly $65 after taxes and fees.
The rest of the schedule has some major dates already circled too, including the World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers visiting Toronto for a three-game series on April 6–8. Other key series include matchups against the Boston Red Sox (April 27–29) and the New York Yankees (June 12–14).
And one of the most anticipated storylines? Bo Bichette’s return to Toronto — now with the New York Mets — on June 29, June 30, and Canada Day. Tickets for the July 1 game are already close to sold out, with remaining seats priced around $95.
