Inter Toronto Is Official — And the City Showed Up for the Moment

Toronto football just turned a major page.

Inter Toronto Football Club is now officially the new identity of the city’s Canadian Premier League team, and last night, the city got its first real look at what this new era looks like.

The private unveiling event took place last night at The Great Hall in downtown Toronto, bringing together people who genuinely shape the football culture of the city. From City of Toronto representatives to members of the FIFA World Cup 2026 (Canada) organizing team, Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer, the Canadian Premier League, plus influencers and key voices from the football community — the room was stacked with people who believe in the future of the sport here.

After years as York United FC, this rebrand feels bigger than just a name change. It feels like a statement.

The club is leaning fully into what Toronto actually is — international, diverse, ambitious, and connected. Even the name Inter Toronto reflects that identity, highlighting the connections between cultures, generations, and communities that make this city unique.

The new crest pulls inspiration straight from the city itself:

  • Toronto’s skyline

  • The three rivers flowing into Lake Ontario

  • Colours like Lake Ontario Blue, Trillium White, Sunrise Gold, and Tower Stone

It’s clean, modern, and feels like it actually belongs to Toronto.

Club president and owner Ricardo Pasquel summed it up best, saying the club should reflect the city’s resilience and opportunity, while creating real pathways for young Canadian players to grow right here at home.

And honestly? That message hit.

Last night felt less like a launch and more like a turning point — for the club, for the league, and for professional soccer in this city.

Toronto football is evolving… and Inter Toronto is ready to be part of that story.
