A simple act of kindness has turned into a heartbreaking story.
A woman has reportedly lost her job after recording and sharing a short video of Lionel Messi — a clip she filmed only to make a close friend’s dream come true.
The video, which went viral online, showed the Argentine legend in a light, friendly moment. But instead of praise, the woman faced consequences at work. Her employer ruled that filming and sharing the video violated workplace rules, leading to her immediate dismissal.
According to the woman, her only intention was to surprise a friend who is a huge Messi fan. What was meant to be a joyful gesture quickly turned into a life-changing moment.
“I just wanted to make my friend happy,” she shared in a heartfelt message.
Once the story was shared by football platform Instant Foot, outrage quickly spread across social media. Thousands of fans slammed the decision, calling it unfair and excessive. Support poured in from all corners of the world.
On Instagram, the woman thanked everyone who reached out with kind messages, writing:
“God’s timing is perfect. Something better is coming my way.”

While she may have lost her job, she gained global support — and a reminder that sometimes kindness travels further than we ever expect.
