A new report from international money transfer service Remitly has revealed that when people around the globe dream about starting fresh in a new country, Canada sits firmly at number one.

Surveying over 4,800 people across 26 countries, the study found that Canada’s reputation for quality of life, job opportunities, stunning landscapes, and welcoming communities makes it the most desirable place to move. From safe, vibrant cities to snow-capped mountains, sparkling lakes, and charming coastal towns, Canada offers the perfect blend of urban energy and natural beauty.

It’s not just the scenery drawing people in — Canada’s education, healthcare, and famously friendly culture ranked high on the list of reasons people want to relocate. As the report put it, Canada provides the stability and balance many are searching for.

Of course, Canada isn’t without its challenges. Rising costs of living have made it difficult for some newcomers to thrive, and many immigrants are weighing whether to stay long-term.

Still, that hasn’t stopped Canada from being the ultimate dream destination. Australia ranked second, praised for its warm climate and lifestyle, while Japan came in third, admired for its rich culture, food, and low crime rates.

✨ Whether it’s for work, lifestyle, or simply a fresh start, Canada continues to be seen worldwide as a land of opportunity — and a place worth dreaming about.
