Toronto is once again on the global stage — this time thanks to TimeOut, which has named Davenport one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world. The west-end community, stretching between Bathurst Street and Lansdowne Avenue, earned the #26 spot on the 2025 list, joining cultural hotspots from Tokyo to Buenos Aires.
So what makes Davenport so special? According to TimeOut, it’s the energy and creativity pulsing through the area. From its lively patios and indie cafes to cultural warehouse spaces, breweries, and underground nightlife, Davenport is quickly becoming a magnet for artists, foodies, and innovators.
Highlights include:
-
General Public, the area’s anchor for dining and drinks
-
Breweries like Blood Brothers and The Greater Good on Geary Avenue
-
The Geary Art Crawl, which showcases Davenport’s thriving art scene
-
Black-owned creative hub All Ours Studio, a cornerstone for local design and culture
The travel guide even mapped out a “perfect day” in Davenport: start with a matcha latte at Balzac’s Powerhouse, browse photography at Cardinal Gallery, grab lunch at Amelia’s Market or Parallel Brothers, sip frosé at Paradise Grapevine’s Space Cowboy party, then cap the night with a slice from North of Brooklyn Pizza before catching live music at Standard Time.
Davenport wasn’t Canada’s only entry — Montreal’s Plateau-Mont-Royal landed at #22. Still, this recognition cements Toronto’s west end as a global hotspot, proving that our city continues to be at the heart of cultural cool.
