Las Vegas lit up Saturday night as Terence Crawford shocked the boxing world, dethroning Canelo Álvarez to become the undisputed super middleweight champion. But the upset wasn’t the only headline. The fight pulled in over 41 million viewers worldwide on Netflix, making it the most-watched men’s championship boxing match of the century.

The stream peaked at 24 million concurrent viewers, while the main event averaged 36.6 million live+same-day viewers from the opening bell to the final decision. Netflix reported the fight was the No. 1 title in 30 countries—including the U.S., Mexico, Canada, Ireland, and Australia—and landed in the top 10 across 91 nations.

While it didn’t surpass the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson spectacle last November (which raked in 108M viewers, 125M with live+1), Canelo-Crawford firmly established itself as one of the sport’s defining moments.

Inside the sold-out Allegiant Stadium, history was also made at the gate. The event generated $47 million in ticket sales, setting a new record for the venue and ranking as the third largest gate in boxing history, behind only Mayweather-Pacquiao ($72M) and Mayweather-McGregor ($55M).

For Canelo, it was a rare defeat on boxing’s biggest stage. For Crawford, it was the crowning moment of his career. And for Netflix, it was another reminder that streaming is now a heavyweight in the fight game.
