Ontario Invests $2M to Boost Young Entrepreneurs Through Futurpreneur

The Ontario government is investing in the next generation of business leaders with an additional $2 million commitment to Futurpreneur Canada, a national non-profit that helps young people turn their ideas into thriving businesses.

The new funding, announced Tuesday by Associate Minister of Small Business Nina Tangri, will provide 320 entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 39 with access to collateral-free loans of up to $75,000, mentorship, and in-person programming.

Since 2021, Ontario has contributed $9 million to Futurpreneur, supporting nearly 1,200 businesses and creating more than 5,000 jobs across the province.

Futurpreneur’s Chief Growth Officer, Janis Nixon, said the support from Ontario is significant: “It’s a portion of loan capital that the government of Ontario is providing to entrepreneurs, so when the government says they’re here to support entrepreneurs across the province — they really are.”

Ontario’s investment is helping ensure that young entrepreneurs have the tools, funding, and mentorship they need to succeed.
