From Stages to Courtrooms: Daddy Yankee Battles Ex-Wife Over Millions

Daddy Yankee is back in the headlines—but not for a new hit or sold-out tour. This time, the reggaeton legend is center stage in a $20+ million legal battle that mixes family drama, business disputes, and accusations of betrayal.

The Puerto Rican superstar, born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, was spotted leaving federal court in San Juan after filing a bombshell lawsuit against his ex-wife, Mireddys González, and her sister, Ayeicha. The case accuses them of deliberately deleting and hiding critical business records from El Cartel Records and Los Cangris, companies tied to Daddy Yankee’s career.

According to the 27-page filing, the sisters’ alleged actions weren’t accidental—they were calculated moves designed to cause harm as they were about to lose control of the businesses. The missing records reportedly involve massive deals, including the sale of Daddy Yankee’s music catalog and his La Última Vuelta World Tour.

The lawsuit demands more than $20 million in damages, citing lost data, financial harm, and even the deletion of an email account that allegedly contained sensitive business history.

Beyond the courtroom, the fallout is deeply personal. The case has put strain on the family, with his eldest daughter stepping in to help manage affairs while his younger daughter, Jesaaelys, has described the family bond as “more than lacerated.”

Whether this ends in a blockbuster payout, a settlement, or a drawn-out legal fight, one thing is clear: Daddy Yankee’s latest battle is about more than money—it’s about control, legacy, and trust.
