After a brief dip, the heat is making a strong return to Toronto. Environment Canada forecasts a high of 30°C for Wednesday, with humidex values pushing the feel closer to 35°C. Expect sunny skies in the morning with a very high UV index of 9 by early afternoon.
By midday, clouds will roll in, bringing a 30% chance of showers and the possibility of thunderstorms later in the day.
Although Thursday and Friday will bring slight relief with highs of 27°C and 26°C, the heat will surge again over the weekend — both Saturday and Sunday are expected to hit 30°C, with another 30% chance of rain each day.
On Tuesday, the city already felt the intensity when the temperature hit 30°C but felt like 37°C under muggy, cloudy skies. Just last week, Toronto smashed a 10-year heat record when it reached 36°C — and it looks like summer’s grip isn’t loosening anytime soon.
