Shakira lit up Scotiabank Arena on Monday with her first Toronto performance in 7 years. The sold-out show marked the 2nd Canadian show  as part of her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour, named after her 2024 album that topped the Billboard Latin charts.

At 48, Shakira dazzled for more than two hours with mesmerizing dance, massive visuals, and a nostalgic yet forward-thinking setlist that spanned her decades-long career. From robotic choreography in a silver tracksuit to fan-favourite belly dancing during “Ojos Así,” the Colombian icon delivered a high-energy performance celebrating resilience, womanhood, and cultural pride.

In a rare moment of reflection, Shakira acknowledged her personal struggles — including a recent tax fraud settlement and a public breakup — telling fans: “After each fall we rise up a little bit wiser, a little bit stronger.”

While some of the show’s CGI visuals felt outdated, the performance proved Shakira remains an unmatched force in Latin pop and live entertainment. The concert definitely reaffirmed her legacy: Shakira is still in her prime — and she knows it.
