Peruvian fisherman Maximo Napa, lost at sea for 95 days, survived by eating roaches, birds, and sea turtles after his boat was thrown off course by a storm. He was finally rescued by an Ecuadorian fishing patrol, 1,094 km (680 miles) off the coast, in critical condition. Napa stayed strong thinking of his family, including his two-month-old granddaughter, and relied on rainwater to survive, going 15 days without food before being found. His mother had nearly lost hope, but his sisters remained optimistic. Now recovering, Napa will undergo further medical checks before returning home to Lima.
