Starbucks has officially opened its first store in Honduras, marking its 26th market in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) and its 88th globally. The new 3,000-square-foot drive-thru store is located in San Pedro Sula and includes seating for 70. Certified as a Greener Store, it adheres to Starbucks’ sustainability-focused Greener Store Framework, which has been implemented across all new Starbucks locations in LAC since the end of 2023.
The debut is a collaboration with Premium Restaurants of America, Starbucks’ franchise partner since 2010, which operates 76 Starbucks outlets in El Salvador, Guatemala, and Costa Rica. By the end of 2025, Premium Restaurants of America plans to open three more licensed Starbucks stores in Honduras.
“Hondurans have a great appreciation for high-quality coffee, and we are excited to create moments of connection over coffee in our stores,” said Ricardo Arias-Nath, Starbucks’ President for LAC.
Honduras is the fourth-largest coffee producer in Latin America, following Brazil, Colombia, and Peru. Starbucks has sourced coffee from Honduras since the late 1990s, including specialty beans from the Corquín-based CAFICO cooperative, which are served in 15 markets worldwide.
This expansion underlines Starbucks’ commitment to the LAC region and its dedication to fostering connections in countries with strong coffee traditions.
