A host is responsible for the ambiance, presentation and service of an establishment. In essence, they are greatly responsible for making your dining experience an unforgettable one. Meet Gustavo Patzan, or Gusto as he’s widely known. This past Sunday, Gusto was named Toronto’s 2024 Host of the Year by TorontoNightClub.com. Let’s mention that he’s also a partner at Silent H, and Silent H won Best Restaurant 2024. Gusto is no stranger to hospitality. Prior to this year, he won Nightclub promotor of the year, 5 separate times.

In 2005, with a love for music, Gustavo started off as a salsa dancer, instructor and performer. This quickly sparked an interest in entertaining and hosting. He began teaching dance lessons at venues across the GTA and soon ventured into entrepreneurship. He founded a weekly social, @bailacongustotoronto, which brought together dancers from various backgrounds to showcase their skills and connect with other dancers.

If you visit Silent H, you will more than likely meet Gustavo. Within seconds you will realize why he’s Mr. Hospitality. He acts the part, and definitely dresses the part. At any given night you may bump into Reggaeton stars, NFL stars, entire NBA basketball teams, and our very own Scotty Barns of the Toronto Raptors. We’ve seen them all.

You can also find Gusto at the legendary El Rancho on College St, and/or Baro on King St W. Give him a follow at @gustavopatzan
