Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernández and his wife, Valentina Cervantes, have announced their split after having shared 18 months together in London following his high-profile transfer from Benfica. Cervantes confirmed the news on social media, sharing that while they will be living apart, they remain committed to co-parenting their two children, Olivia and Benjamin. Cervantes emphasized their intention to keep the separation amicable, stating, “We will always be family and support each other through everything.”

Argentinian journalist Julieta Argenta provided some context on the couple’s decision, mentioning that Fernández expressed a desire to live independently, having moved into a family life early in his career. Despite their separation, Cervantes has been a visible supporter throughout Fernández’s career, cheering him on at Chelsea and during his triumphs with Argentina, including his World Cup and Copa América wins.

Cervantes, who met Fernández at 16 while he was 17, has built a significant following on Instagram, with 1.6 million followers. Originally training to become a teacher, she pivoted to a career as a social media influencer, sharing moments from her life in London and milestones in Fernández’s career.

This change in Fernández’s personal life coincides with a challenging season at Chelsea, where he has faced reduced playing time under manager Enzo Maresca, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia currently preferred in Chelsea’s starting lineup.
