The Latin Recording Academy has announced its 2024 Leading Ladies of Entertainment, recognizing four trailblazing women in the Latin music industry for their professional achievements and contributions to social causes. This year’s honorees are Vivir Quintana, Diana Rodriguez, Ana Rosa Santiago, and Julieta Venegas. These women will be celebrated during a private event, sponsored by Amazon Music, on November 11 during Latin Grammy Weekin Miami.

Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy, praised the honorees, stating that they exemplify not only excellence but also the empowerment and growth of other women in the industry.

Here’s more about the 2024 honorees:

  • Vivir Quintana: A Mexican singer-songwriter known for her feminist anthem “Canción Sin Miedo”, which addresses gender violence. Her music, including the song featured in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, has had a profound cultural impact. Quintana is working on her next project, which continues to tell powerful stories of women, especially those incarcerated for defending themselves against abusers.
  • Diana Rodriguez: The CEO and founder of Criteria Entertainment and Mercado Negro, Rodriguez has been a key figure in the Latin music industry for over 30 years. She has managed top artists like Enrique Bunbury and Mon Laferte. In 2009, she became the first woman to head a multinational Latin record label in the U.S., holding leadership positions at Universal Music, Polygram, and EMI Music.
  • Ana Rosa Santiago: As the Senior Vice President of Latin Music and LatAm at Universal Music Publishing Group, Santiago has played a pivotal role in developing talent and creating global opportunities for Latin artists like Feid, Romeo Santos, and Yahritza y Su Esencia. She also serves on the board of She Is The Music, which promotes the inclusion of women in the music industry.
  • Julieta Venegas: The influential Mexican singer-songwriter, who has won eight Latin Grammys, continues to be one of the most popular female voices on Spotify in Mexico. Venegas recently performed at major venues, including El Zócalo in Mexico City and Estadio Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid. Beyond music, she is a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and an advocate for women’s rights.

As a presenting sponsor, Amazon Music will make a donation to the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation’s Scholarship Fund, supporting the next generation of Latin music creators. Rocío Guerrero, head of music for Latin/Iberia at Amazon Music, emphasized the importance of championing female talent at all stages of their careers to ensure the continued success of the global Latin music industry.
