Cuban artist El Taiger, whose real name is José Manuel Carbajal Zaldívar, is in critical condition after being shot in the head in Miami. The incident occurred on the morning of October 3, 2024. Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales stated that officers responded to a call at approximately 7 a.m. and found El Taiger inside a black vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was immediately transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s trauma center, where he underwent surgery and remains in serious condition.

El Taiger, 37, is widely known for his Cuban urban sound, with popular tracks like “La Historia,” “El Papelito,” and “Habla Matador.” His career took off with the release of his debut album Taiger in 2016 under Puerto Rican artist Cosculluela’s label. Fellow artists, including Gente de Zona and Jacob Forever, have shared heartfelt messages on social media, offering prayers and expressing shock at the tragedy. Authorities have yet to identify a suspect, but Morales expressed confidence that the case will be resolved.
