Flights canceled as Colombian airlines warn of fuel shortage

Colombian officials are implementing emergency measures to ensure flights run on schedule after two major airlines, Avianca and Latam, reported jet fuel shortages, leading to flight cancellations and the suspension of ticket sales. Ecopetrol, the national oil company, plans to import 100,000 barrels of jet fuel to address the shortage, which was exacerbated by a power outage at a refinery. While production has returned to normal, rising demand has increased the need for imports. The government claims there is no actual fuel shortage but cites logistical issues at airports.
