Lionel Messi celebrated Argentina’s second consecutive Copa America title after a 1-0 victory over Colombia, with Lautaro Martinez scoring in the 112th minute. Despite suffering a leg injury in the 64th minute, Messi supported his team from the sidelines, and Martinez hugged him after scoring. Coach Lionel Scaloni praised Messi’s dedication to his teammates.

The match was delayed by over an hour due to crowd control issues, with fans breaching security gates. Argentina’s win also ended Colombia’s 28-game unbeaten streak.

Angel Di Maria, who is retiring from the national team, expressed gratitude for his career’s end on a high note. Martinez’s goal came from a perfect pass by Giovani Lo Celso, following Leandro Paredes’ crucial tackle. The humid conditions caused severe cramping among Colombian players.

Messi, possibly in his last Copa America appearance, scored one goal in the tournament. Despite the challenging conditions and delays, Argentina’s victory secured their third major title in three years. Colombia’s James Rodriguez was named the tournament’s best player.
