For the second time, the Copa America, the longest-running continental football competition, is being held in the United States. This year, 12 American cities will host matches featuring top South American teams like Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina, led by Lionel Messi. Additionally, teams from North and Central America, including the United States and Mexico, have been invited.

The tournament, last held in the U.S. in 2016, will culminate with the final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Argentina and Uruguay hold the most titles (15 each), while Brazil has been dominant in recent decades. The 2024 edition will feature 16 teams in four groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the knockout stages.

Historically, South American teams automatically qualify, and guest nations are invited to round out the competition. Messi, who will be playing his seventh Copa America, could break the appearance and goalscoring records. Brazil, missing Neymar, will rely on stars like Vinicius Jr., while other notable players include Luis Diaz for Colombia and Darwin Nunez for Uruguay.

Fox Sports will broadcast the tournament in the U.S., with key games featuring the USMNT, Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico. Argentina is the favorite to win, with Brazil as the main competitor. Uruguay and Colombia are potential dark horses, while the U.S. aims to reach the semi-finals.
