Anitta was in Toronto last night as she headlined her first concert at the sold-out History music venue, delivering a dynamic and energetic performance. The Brazilian star’s nearly 30-song setlist captivated a super enthusiastic crowd.

The concert marked Anitta’s only Canadian stop of her “Baile Funk Experience Tour,” which will also travel to South America and Europe. The tour aims to recreate the vibrant and sweaty favela funk dance parties of Brazil. The atmosphere was electric, with dance circles forming throughout the space as the 31-year-old singer performed tracks from her latest album, “Funk Generation.” This album features 15 songs that showcase the raw and infectious beats of Brazilian funk.

Anitta’s setlist included a mix of her latest tracks and her biggest hits from Brazil, Latin America, and the U.S. She performed her popular collaborations with artists like J Balvin, Cardi B, and Missy Elliott. Midway through the show, she transitioned to a more intimate setup, singing pop songs such as “Girl From Rio,” “Mil Veces,” and “Envolver” with just a DJ for accompaniment. The latter part of the concert highlighted her early funk carioca trap hits, including Tropkillaz’s “Bola Rebola” and “Vai Malandra,” which sparked a dance battle and maintained the high energy throughout the evening.

The stage visuals remained consistent, with Anitta and her dancers often interacting with a chain-linked fence, reminiscent of the set from the music video for “Double Team” with Bad Gyal. The atmosphere was reminiscent of an underground warehouse rave, with the audience fully immersed in the music and dance.

Overall, Anitta successfully brought the essence of Brazil’s favela funk parties to an international stage. Her meticulous attention to stage design, choreography, and setlist selection ensured that the concert was not only a musical performance but an immersive cultural experience. This show at History demonstrated Anitta’s ability to connect with diverse audiences and solidified her status as a global music sensation.
