Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Sergio Busquets will not travel with Inter Miami for their game against the Vancouver Whitecaps to rest, as confirmed by league sources. They are not injured but are avoiding the seven-hour flight and preparing for upcoming home games. Their absence disappoints the sold-out crowd of 55,000 expected at BC Place, where the Whitecaps had planned a major event.

Whitecaps CEO Axel Schuster emphasized their commitment to creating a memorable experience despite the star players’ absence. Vancouver coach Vanni Sartini expressed understanding, likening Messi to a masterpiece, and said fans could cheer for him. The Whitecaps will offer discounted food and free meal combos for youth.

Inter Miami, leading the Eastern Conference, owes much of its success to Messi and Suarez, who have combined for 21 goals and 17 assists in 14 games.
