Don Omar’s 2011 hit “Taboo” has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing one billion views on YouTube for its music video, which features footage from the movie “Fast Five.” This marks Don Omar’s second video to join the Billion Views Club on YouTube. Currently ranked at No. 87 on YouTube’s Global Top Artists, Don Omar’s success continues to grow.

The music video, directed by Marlon P and shot in Brazil, intertwines scenes from “Fast Five” with a storyline where Don Omar plays a waiter at a lavish event and reconnects with a childhood crush. The song itself reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and Latin Airplay tally, showcasing its widespread popularity.

Don Omar is currently on his Back to Reggaetón U.S. Tour, produced by CMN, marking his return to the stage after two decades of influential hits. The tour includes performances in major cities across the United States, including Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Las Vegas, and Houston.

In February, Don Omar was honored with the Ícono Global Award at the 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro. During his acceptance speech, he paid tribute to past, present, and future urban music artists, emphasizing the importance of their contributions and acknowledging the global impact of urban music.
