Despite not releasing an album last year, Shakira broke Guinness World Records with her single “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53” and became the first South American MTV Video Vanguard winner. Recently, she released her 12th studio album, “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women No Longer Cry), which reflects her resilience following a public breakup with Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique. The album, with 16 tracks featuring collaborations with Latin music stars and even her sons, has garnered immense success, becoming the most-streamed album of 2024 in its first 24 hours and certified 7x platinum on release day. Shakira expressed gratitude to her fans on Instagram. The album’s theme revolves around empowerment and resilience, inspired by Shakira’s own experiences. In promoting the album, she spoke about channeling her pain into creativity and chose diamonds as a metaphor for women’s resilience. Her collaboration with Cardi B on the track “Punteria” has also been well-received, reaching No. 9 on the iTunes U.S. chart and gaining millions of views on YouTube.
