The club suspended goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa, defender Braian Cufré, midfielder José Ignacio Florentín, and striker Abiel Osorio after authorities launched an investigation into the matter. The incident reportedly occurred in Tucuman, 1,200 kilometers north of Buenos Aires, where Vélez played a match against Atletico Tucuman. The woman claimed she agreed to join one player in a hotel room but found three other men present. She alleged that after consuming alcohol and falling asleep, she was raped. The players and their representatives have not commented on the investigation. Vélez Sarsfield, known for its rich history and numerous national titles, stated its willingness to cooperate fully with the investigation.
