Bad Bunny, a Grammy-winning artist, is set to break records at the Delta Center with his Wednesday night concert, marking the start of his world tour. The event is anticipated to draw 15,500 attendees, generating unprecedented revenue, which includes substantial merchandise sales estimated at $600,000 to $700,000, surpassing past performances by renowned artists like Paul McCartney, U2, Taylor Swift, and Travis Scott.

Mark Powell, the Delta Center’s senior vice president of events, emphasized the significant economic impact and excitement the concert brings to Salt Lake City. Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, ranks as the second-most streamed artist globally on Spotify, overtaking Taylor Swift in album listens with “Un Verano Sin Ti.” Choosing Salt Lake City as the tour’s starting point reflects the city’s vibrant Latinx concert market and supportive community.

Powell noted the growing presence of Latinx artists at the Delta Center, with plans to host eight such shows this year compared to previous years. Despite the concert’s success, extensive preparation was required, with Bad Bunny’s team bringing in 32 semi-trucks and even live horses for the performance, rehearsing since Sunday.
