Production on ‘Star Trek: Section 31’ has officially begun in Toronto and our very own Humbly Gonzalez will be starring in the movie. Vamos Humberly!

The movie will feature Michelle Yeoh reprising her role as Emperor Philippa Georgiou from the first season of “Star Trek: Discovery.” Georgiou, having crossed over from the Mirror Universe, now serves as an agent for Section 31, a mysterious Federation spy group tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets. The film explores Georgiou’s dual role in safeguarding the Federation while confronting the sins of her past. Executive producer Alex Kurtzman expressed excitement about the start of principal photography, welcoming a new cast that includes Omari Hardwick, Kacey Rohl, Sam Richardson, Sven Ruygrok, Robert Kazinsky, Humberly Gonzalez, and James Hiroyuki Liao.

The project’s inception traces back to rumors following the first season of “Discovery,” where a deleted scene hinted at Georgiou’s connection with Section 31 on the Klingon homeworld. Section 31, an intelligence organization, was initially introduced in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and has since appeared in various “Star Trek” series, including “Enterprise,” “Discovery,” “Lower Decks,” and “Picard,” as well as the film “Star Trek Into Darkness.” The movie promises to take viewers on a new adventure within the expansive “Star Trek” universe.
