Alex Alcalá’s journey from playing for Stockton TLJ FC Rebels soccer club at seven years old to signing a five-year contract with Manchester City F.C. at 18 is a testament to his dedication and talent. His desire to become a professional footballer ignited at nine years old, and his exceptional dribbling skills caught the attention of sports agent Luis Loreto after his highlights were shared on social media by his mother, Mariana Solorio.

Alcalá’s ability to keep the ball close to his feet and his dedication to improving his skills, including winning a local juggling competition, set him apart. His talent led him to train with prestigious clubs such as Manchester City, Barcelona, and Pachuca before joining the LA Galaxy academy in 2020.

Throughout his journey, Alcalá remained committed to his dream, signing his first professional contract with the Galaxy in 2021. He was recognized for his contributions to the team, earning a spot in the 2022 MLS Next All-Star Game and finishing the 2023 season with impressive stats.

Standing at 5-foot-7 and 150 pounds, Alcalá’s quick play style has earned him comparisons to Lionel Messi, but he remains humble and grateful for the support of his family, friends, coach Tony Aguilar, and Stockton TLJ FC, where he began his soccer journey at seven years old. Alcalá hopes to repay his club’s support by helping younger players achieve their dreams in the future.
