Daddy Yankee, the iconic reggaeton artist, made a surprise visit to Ponce De Leon Middle School in Coral Gables to help distribute food to local families as part of a Love Has No Limits volunteer initiative. TV personality Ale Jaramillo shared photos of the event on Instagram, highlighting Yankee’s involvement. The 48-year-old artist, whose real name is Ramón Ayala Rodríguez, announced his shift away from music in December 2023 to focus on Christianity and faith-based work, and he has since engaged in various humanitarian efforts, including a recent mission to Kenya. Jedidiah Thurner, Chief Strategy Officer of Love Has No Limits, praised Yankee’s commitment to community service, emphasizing the powerful example set by his actions. Despite stepping back from his music career, Daddy Yankee remains connected to the industry and is set to attend the Latin Grammy Awards, where his 2023 hit Bonita is nominated for Best Urban Song. Additionally, Yankee has expanded into non-musical ventures in Florida, opening a padel club called 10 By 20 in Fort Lauderdale and owning a pro padel league team, the Orlando Flowrida Goats.
