Rapper Tekashi 69, also known as Daniel Hernandez, has purportedly been detained on charges of domestic violence in the Dominican Republic, as reported by ABC News. The arrest occurred yesterday (January 17), and he is presently held at a prison in Santo Domingo.

At the moment, the publication highlighted that the specific details of Hernandez’s arrest remain undisclosed.

Reports are that the case is under investigation by the Department of General Violence. Hernandez is accused of inflicting “physical and psychological violence” against his girlfriend, Yailín la Más Viral. He is scheduled to appear in court this morning in relation to the incident.

Hernandez’s arrest follows a previous incarceration a few months ago in the Dominican Republic. In October, he was arrested at a coastal hotel for allegedly assaulting two music producers while he and his girlfriend were recording there.

During his time in the US, Hernandez faced an investigation for allegedly using a gang as his “personal hit squad,” as reported by the publication. However, to avoid prison time, he testified against the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, an East Coast gang, resulting in the arrest of several members.

In the previous year, Hernandez experienced an attack in a Florida gym, where he was also robbed by a group of men.
