TORONTO (Barrio) – Blessd, born Stiven Mesa Londoño, is Colombia’s next biggest star. He’s humble and always repping el barrio in Medellin. Blessd wants to show future generations that you can come from nothing and make it big. He was selling fruit and candy with his father before the life-changing collaboration with Maluma.

Blessd knew music was in his blood, but he was busy selling fruits and vegetables with his father in Medellin’s La Mayorista market.

One of his classmates eventually put him in touch with a producer. He never had money to pay the producer. The $100 fee would take him forever to pay. He would record his songs piece by piece until it became a local hit, so he could start touring schools.

‘Poblado’ made waves in Colombia before the remix went mainstream. Of course, the remix included J Balvin, Karol G and Nicky Jam. Unfortunately Blessd was left off the remix.

It wasn’t all a loss. His face was on the remix that went viral on TikTok. People looked him up and realized he had a song with Maluma. He definitely used that momentum to assist with selling out shows in Medellin and Cali.

Blessd expresses his appreciation to artists like Maluma who collaborate with up and coming talent, and he hopes to do the same. He realizes that Maluma took his career to the next level and now he wishes to do the same for others.
